Sing Your Heart Out in Song Hits Cebu!

ABOUT SONG HITS

Song Hits is one of the popular karaoke destinations in Cebu City. All week, with Friday and the weekends as the highlights, several people flock to their branches scattered around Cebu. They have branches in Banilad Town Center, Mango Avenue, and J. Centre Mall.

After a very long time, I got to try the place out again with my brothers and cousins. As it was the nearest branch to where we were, we picked the branch in Mango Avenue (or General A. Maxilom Avenue). It is located at the very end of a long line of restaurants situated at the right wing of One Mango Square Mall, which is a prominent mall in Mango Avenue. It occupies three floors of the mall–the basement, ground floor, and second floor.

It was about 8:00 in the evening. Already, there were many names on the waiting list. Usually, it is better to take the karaoke rooms on the ground floor and second floor, but unfortunately, we would have to wait for an hour before we could get one on those floors. We couldn’t wait that long, so we decided to spend two hours of singing in one of the rooms at the basement.

ACCOMMODATING STAFFS

It wasn’t really bad after all. Although we did have a few complications with the microphone, the attending staff was quick to fix and solve the problem. Also, it had been a long time before I got back to Song Hits, so I had forgotten ways on how to select songs on the flat screen television with the remote control. The staff was readily available to answer my queries on how to operate the remote.

Instead of a songbook, Song Hits allows you to select songs from the screen via the remote control. There are three ways you can locate the songs–by looking for the initial of the artist or of the song, or by typing in the title of the song letter by letter.

CONVENIENT ROOM

The room was well air-conditioned and spacious, had comfortable seats and came with disco lights. So, if you’re singing a jolly and/or upbeat song, you can dance to the beat with the disco ball. But if you’re just waiting for your turn to sing or simply exhausted from all the singing you have already done, you can comfortably recline or lie on their cushioned seats.

GOOD FOOD

We had just come from dinner at that time, so we really didn’t order much food. We just had a Hawaiian pizza with pitchers of pineapple juice and water. But what really took me away was the PIZZA! It was really delicious. I could definitely eat the whole pizza! You should try it!

In every room, you will find a food menu either placed on the coffee table or in a rack beneath the TV screen. Before you begin singing or during your singing session, a staff will come to your room and ask for your order, if you have any. If you want to make an additional order, simply call the attention of any of the staffs outside the room.

AFFORDABLE

On weekdays (except Fridays) and Sundays, one hour of singing costs 99php if you use a Silver room, which can accommodate 6 persons. Usage of the bigger rooms–Gold and Platinum–cost 149php and 199php, respectively. On Fridays and Saturdays, the costs are 50php higher.

It may not have been a perfect night; yet it was a great quality time spent with my brothers and cousins. In the end, it’s the quality of the time you have spent with your friends or family that counts the most!
