Before you experience Tuslob Buwa, you should at least know a little information about it. And one of the important information you should know is its ingredients and a background of the procedure on how to cook it. I am hoping that this article will be your guide if you are interested to have your own Tuslob Buwa Experience.
THE MAIN INGREDIENTS OF TUSLOB BUWA (FROM LEFT TO RIGHT: BRAIN OF THE PIG, LIVER OF THE PIG & SHRIMP)
・12 pieces of Puso
・Ingredients
・One Frying Pan (This is only a rent use, during the time you will cook.)
・One small portable stove (This is only a rent use, during the time you will cook.)
・One Spoon (This is only a rent use, during the time you will cook.)
・One Spatula (This is only a rent use, during the time you will cook.)
• Utok sa Baboy (Brain of the Pig – grind)
• Atay sa Baboy (Liver of the Pig – grind)
• Hipon (Shrimp)
• Mantika (Cooking Oil)
• Bumbay (Onion – sliced)
• Sabaw (Soup – boiled water with seasoning)
• Patis (Soy Sauce)
• Chili (powder)
・The very first thing to do is to, of course, turn on the stove.
・Then, you put the cooking oil.
・When it is a bit of hot already, you put the sliced onions. Wait until it turns into a brownish color.
・Next, you add the 3 main ingredients. You can, either, add the 3 ingredients at the same time and cook them together or you can cook them separately (For instance, you add the Brain of the Pig first, save the other 2 main ingredients for later and continue the procedure until it is cooked. Then you do the same for the remaining ingredients.)
・After that, you add the soup with seasoning.
・Once you already added the soup, you can now add the soy sauce. (3 spoons of soy sauce, but you can actually add more, depending on your own taste preference.)
・The last ingredient you will put is the chilli.
・You will know when your Tuslob Buwa is already cooked when it becomes sticky enough.
This is really a very exciting experience, so grab the chance to try it while you are in Cebu. Have fun cooking and enjoy a scrumptious Tuslob Buwa meal!
